Welcome to the QuickShot page of the ScurvOriginalz website! Anyone who truly knows me knows that I go NO WHERE without my favorite pen and some paper. I will make a quick sketch while standing in those long boring supermarket checkout lines, or on a napkin while dining out at my favorite sushi joint, in the doctor’s waiting room and even while on the toilet! “The Audacity Of Barack”

I found myself sketching this one while watching Senator Barack Obama make his official announcement to run for the presidency of the United States. As an artist, I found his face to be very interesting. His mannerisms and body language are very intriguing in a genuine way. Barack’s charisma is like a bag of cookies that’s hard to put down, you keep saying that you will only consume “just one more” but only hold true to your vow only when the bag is empty. I found myself wanting to hear more from this man in a refreshing way. So while he expressed his feelings to the world in his announcement, I doodled loosely and obviously added (Always my style) a little flavor to this sketch with a little spice to get those controversial juices flowing. But I wondered to myself, “Is amerikkka ready for a Black president?”….”How can the racists who are obviously lurking on the sidelines and forever present hate this charismatic man who comes with such a refreshing word?” As of this writing the American doesn’t seem to have a problem with Barack Obama being a candidate for the Presidency of the United States. I think this is in part because at first, many never thought he would have a chance once it came down to it. But as time goes on and he does better than what was expected or even pulls it off, the true amerikkkan colors will rise to the top! Just the same way they have been doing Bobby Bonds as he closes in on Hank Aarons home run record. As though they have a problem with that and love Hank Aaron so much. Have you forgotten that they gave Hank Aaron his share of death threats as he closed in on the homerun record of Babe Ruth? Racism in this hypocritical country is like the old fashioned Dannon yogurt varieties, if you don't read the lid, you won't know the flavor until you stir it up from the bottom with a spoon. Circumstances are like the spoon in bringing up the true feelings of white amerikkka. It's just a matter of time before the crap begins. I mean, what is it that they know to give Barack Secret Service protection at such an early stage in the game? Trust me, if Barack were a white man with his combination of good looks, intelligence, oratory abilities, common sense approach and youth, he would be billed as the second coming of John F. Kennedy or the Muhammad Ali of politics! But of course the knock on him is that he doesn’t have “the experience” to make the important decisions necessary. But my question is, with all of the collective experience that these dusty critical old dinosaur politicians have of Obama, is it this experience that has qualified them to cause Washington to be as messed up as is?

Anna Nicole Smith: The American Ideal?

I drew this one on the kitchen table while eating a delicious homemade breakfast as I watched the repetitive coverage of the death of so called “celebrity” Anna Nicole Smith. It made me think how many common folk look up to these icons as though they are living the ideal life. Yet when you dig a little deeper into their world, you see how miserable they were even with all of the fame and fortune they possess. I think Ms. Smith was a predator and a victim at the same time. She did what she what ever it took to gain what she wanted, but when she got to the level she thought she desired she couldn’t handle it. She is a sad victim of her own personal Frankenstein monster of a life. Of course she whored her way into position! What do you think that marriage to the old man was all about? Look where she met him! If her life was so “together”, then why would there be so much confusion in the aftermath of her death? All of these men coming forth as the potential father of her child. All of the drugs that she was using….half the time she was on television she appeared to be half out her mind! High as a kite! This is what amerikkka aspires to be? If we are such a so called Christian nation, why are we so fascinated with a celebrity with such low morals? And believe me, the media will build her up to be an icon just like they did Marilyn Monroe! The only difference is that Anna Nicole Smith didn’t get to sleep with a president (Kennedy) like Marilyn did! Where are you Bill Clinton?
