ORLANDO HIP HOP AWARDS BY REBEL BLACK Orlando's hip hop stars will be shining brightly on the July 19th @ the Doubletree Hotel for the first annual Orlando Hip Hop Awards. The finalists are posted on www.orlandohiphopawards.com. The public can vote for there favorite artists on the website. Orlando's best artists, producers, poets and models will take center stage as hip hop culture is celebrated and the movers and shakers in the Orlando music scene walk the red carpet, receive awards and perform. The evening of July 19th will be historic to say the least. Awards will be awarded in over thirty categories. Some of the more interesting categories included best female artist where Skyy High is competing against a talented group of women that includes, Contagious, Killa Kelz, and 2Shae. This will be on of the more hotly contested awards. Another very competive category is the best new artist award, and the nominees for that award include Bali, Dat Dude, and Drop. Phil 4 Real is nominated for the best local producer and that is one of the more interesting categories because Orlando is known for having a wealth of talented local producers, K-Lion, Big "Al"(Soul Snatcher), and AJ Platinum Tracks. Awards will also be given out for the song of the year, Record label of the year, Latin Artist of the year, and MySpace artist of the year.. Unlike many other awards show the Orlando Hip Hop Awards will take the time to recognize the pioneers of the hip hop industry in Orlando. Magic Mike and Rip It records will be recognized for their contributions to the hip hop culture in Orlando. Another difference in the Orlando Hip Hop Awards is that they will take the time to recognize independent media outlets like websites and internet radio and internet TV. Bboy dance crews, poets, even the best barber shops and salons, will also be recognized for their contributions to the culture. The Orlando Hip Hop Awards will be an event that brings a sense of unity as the best of the best in Orlando get recognized for bringing the true spirit of hip hop to the forefront.
